NTS Sneak Peek at Professional Fire Alarm Design Course

Later this year, NTS will be offering a brand new course perfect for those seeking advance knowledge of fire alarm systems. Here is a sneak preview of what the Professional Fire Alarm Design (PFAD) course will offer.

PFAD is fourteen hours of intensive classroom instruction that gives students the tools they need to develop an installation plan based on field conditions and project requirements. This course focuses on a more advanced level of knowledge gleaned from national codes regarding proper detector selection; required coverage for specific building occupancies; and documentation and plan submittal requirements.

PFAD is only available to individuals who have attained the Certified Fire Alarm Technician status and is ideal for those working with fire alarms including system designers, project managers, plan reviewers, company owners, technicians, sales staff, as well as architects and engineers. Students who successfully complete PFAD will receive the designation of Certified Fire Alarm Designer.

While PFAD is still in development, the anticipated release date is fall 2013. But, don’t worry — we will let you know when the course becomes available in your area.

Stay tuned for an in-depth look of the new Professional Fire Alarm Design course in this month’s NTS News.
