Phoenix (AZ) Fire Department Responds to Construction Site, Four Homes Destroyed

According to a report from AZDailySun, four homes under construction were a total loss and five others suffered smoke damage in north Phoenix, Arizona, Sunday after a fire erupted quickly destroyed the framed houses, authorities said.

The fire broke out just after 9:30 a.m., eventually spreading to four homes under construction. On arrival, Phoenix Fire Department crews found several of the homes were already on fire.

Crews could not save the structures and instead focused their attention on stopping fire spread to other buildings at the construction site.

Firefighters remained on site throughout the rest of Sunday to watch for hot spots and reignition. A fire investigator was consulting the development’s owners to try to find a cause.
