The National Fire Protection Association’s Firewise Communities Program has posted its new online quiz, “Preparing Your Home for Wildfire Season.” The quiz, which consists of 10 questions, focuses on Firewise principles and tips residents can use to help prepare their homes and property before a wildfire threatens their area.
Questions touch on the areas of the home ignition zone, the Firewise Communities/USA® Recognition Program, landscape maintenance and more.
“With many states now in wildfire season, the Firewise program focuses on simple ways individuals can take responsibility for preparing their own homes now, before a wildfire threatens their community,” says Firewise Program Manager Michele Steinberg. “Our quiz offers residents information to share with their neighbors, and provides answers to commonly asked questions to help them get started.”
The online quiz is available until May 5, 2012.
