TriTech Software Systems has been awarded a contract to develop a comprehensive emergency communications system for the City of San Antonio, Texas. TriTech will be implementing its computer aided dispatch, mobile data and records management solution for San Antonio which is the second largest city in Texas and the seventh largest in the nation. The $14.7 million contract includes the installation of a comprehensive multi-agency, multi-jurisdiction communications solution for the Alamo Region Public Safety System, which includes law enforcement, fire and EMS agencies for the City of San Antonio, Bexar County and the City of Schertz and additional site licenses for neighboring Guadalupe and Comal Counties.
“We are very excited to partner with Bexar County, Bexar Metro 911, and the City of Schertz on the Alamo Region Public Safety System,” says Alamo Region Public Safety System Project Leader Jeff Wood. “The new solution developed by TriTech Software Systems will enable our member public safety agencies in the Alamo Region to communicate with each other quickly and seamlessly, virtually eliminating any agency and jurisdictional boundaries. Incident and unit information can be automatically transferred between the different communication centers and field personnel regardless of the jurisdiction of the originating call or responding agency. The end result is enhanced mutual aid and improved regional communications to provide timely emergency response to our citizens.”
TriTech’s VisiCAD Command computer-aided dispatch system is a robust solution able to fulfill the technological requirements and bandwidth to support the heavy call volume of large jurisdiction, yet flexible to meet the specific needs of the individual agencies. The many law enforcement, fire, and EMS agencies that are serviced by the Bexar Metro 911 Network District will be able to operate on the same system and share information, yet customize their solution to suit their individual requirements enabling them to adhere to their own business rules and processes. The functionality within the VisiCAD Command solution meets the different requirements to satisfy the current needs of the police department, sheriff’s office, fire department and EMS agencies as well as offering new capabilities that are not provided in their current system.
The Alamo Region Public Safety System will also include the implementation of TriTech’s VisiNet Mobile data solution, a wireless PC-based fleet application that seamlessly extends VisiCAD Command to field personnel. VisiNet Mobile will be installed in over 1,000 vehicles in the City of San Antonio, Bexar County and City of Schertz including Police, Sheriff’s Office, Constables, Fire Marshals, Fire, and EMS vehicles. With VisiNet Mobile, personnel safety and incident awareness will be greatly enhanced with real-time access to critical call and location information and important suspect information through records checks. Most importantly, on incidents which require joint response from multiple agencies, field personnel will be able to view locations of units from other agencies and communicate via mobile-to-mobile computer messaging ensuring efficient emergency response to incidents.
To complete the integrated enterprise solution, TriTech’s VisiNet Law RMS records management solution will be implemented. VisiNet Law RMS system provides seamless integration with the Alamo Region Public Safety System’s VisiCAD Command and VisiNet Mobile solutions as well as other third-party applications and databases enabling San Antonio Police, Bexar County Sheriff and Schertz Police departments to share and receive information. With tools to customize forms and support flexible agency workflows and case management steps, VisiNet Law RMS is designed to support each agency’s business process and policies. VisiNet Law RMS will serve as a valuable repository for crime information enabling the users within Alamo Region Public Safety System to experience the benefits of reduction in redundant data entry, improved query and reporting capabilities, and streamlined investigative and administration process.
In addition to providing its VisiNet enterprise solution suite, TriTech will provide system integration and project management in partnership with its subcontractors: Advanced Public Safety Systems will provide its Automated Field Reporting solution; Emergency Technologies, Inc. will provide their Fire Records Management solution; US Digital Design will provide its Station Alerting solution; Orion Communications will provide its AgencyWeb solution; GIS Data Resources (GDR) will provide geographical information system (GIS) services; Deccan International will provide solutions for strategic and real-time deployment planning and automated run-card building; and Priority Dispatch’s ProQA medical priority solution.
