Firefighters looked on as a home burned to the ground in Obion County, Tennessee, according to news reports. The firefighters refused to extinguish the fire because the homeowner did not pay the annual $75 fee for fire protection in the area. The homeowner reportedly offered to pay whatever it would take to get the firefighters to stop the fire, but the firefighters were not moved.
