U.S. Chemical Safety Board to review Houston accident
A September 1, 1998, accident in which two men were killed while working on an oil pipeline in Springer, Oklahoma, will be reviewed by the U.S. Chemical Safety Board (CSB).
The two employees of the Houston-based Enerpipe Corporation were found frozen in a pit near the pipeline. They had been using liquid nitrogen to check the pressure on the pipeline when they were apparently overcome.
The CSB will rely primarily on the investigation report that will be prepared by the U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) as well as reports prepared by any other investigating organizations.
