Vermont Firefighter Dies Following MVA Response

To date, 10 firefighter fatalities have been reported to USFA in 2018.

The U.S. Fire Administration has announced the official on-duty death of Lieutenant Casey Stephen Kuhns, 30, of the Morrisville Fire Department on February 28, 2018.

On February 27, at 1526hrs, Lieutenant Casey Stephen Kuhns responded to a motor vehicle crash. Later that day, Lieutenant Kuhns participated in fire department training that ended at approximately 2130hrs. At 0600hrs on February 28, Lieutenant Kuhns was found deceased at home from a nature and cause of fatal injury still to be reported. Incident Location: 101 Foss Street, Morrisville, VT 05661
