Alabama Certification
Nine members of the Green Mountain, Ala., Volunteer Fire Dept., Inc. were awarded their certificates as Firefighter I at a ceremony at the Huntsville City Hall last July 29. These nine are the first Alabama volunteer fire fighters to meet the performance standards of NFPA Standard 1001 and the requirements of the Alabama Firefighters Personnel Standards and Education Commission since the law was recently amended to allow certification of volunteers.
