C.O.R.E. Skill Drills: Kick-Starters

C.O.R.E. #7 drills are quick drill kick-starters for each level of job responsibility in many fire departments. Training officers or company officers can issue these at the start of a shift or a drill night to get members thinking and practicing basic skills.

The quote of the day for this edition reinforces the building of habits, good ones in these examples of things that we have to repeatedly be able to know or do. In our line of work, excellence in service delivery has to be a habit and by repeatedly preforming basic skills, we build mental and physical muscle memory by doing so!

As always, consult your department SOP/SOG or other communication directives when determining what the right answers are for each CORE drill.  Have a safe training day!
