CUMMINS ENGINE COMPANY, INC. announced Chairman and CEO James A. Henderson`s retirement at the end of the year. Company President and Chief Operating Officer Theodore Solso will succeed Henderson, who has been chairman since 1995 and CEO since 1994.

Cummins is combining its automotive and industrial business units into a single engine business unit headed by F.J. Loughrey. The business unit consolidation will improve management of common assets and reduce duplication and complexity within the company.
