The Fire Training Research Center (FTRC), at the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, re-opened after a yearlong, $29 million dollar expansion and reinvestment project, $19.2 million of which was funded by the FAA, reports CBS DFW 11.
The improvements include new interactive curriculum, classroom space, a two-story control center for observation, new burn pits, and the only Airbus A380 mockup trainer in the United States.
Since opening in 1995, more than 16,000 firefighters from 29 states and 24 countries have trained at the FTRC.
