FDNY Candidate, 32, Dies from Medical Episode During Training

An aspiring firefighter passed away after suffering a medical episode while in training for the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) academy, according to reports.

The New York Post reports that Alexander Griffin, 32, was participating in a 1.5-mile run when he suffered an unspecified medical episode.

Griffing reportedly received immediate medical care and was transported a hospital, where he later passed away. He leaves behind a wife, mother, and brother, Firefighter Sean Griffin of the FDNY.
