Fire safety education legislation introduced
Congressman Steny Hoyer (D-MD), a member and former chair of the Congressional Fire Service Caucus in the House of Representatives, has introduced the Fire Safety Act, aimed at educating the American public and high-risk groups about fire safety.
The Act would create a grant program for state and local fire prevention efforts and would seek to improve our nation`s collection and analysis of fire data. The program would be administered by the U.S. Fire Administration.
