Free Firefighter Training Program on Basic Mayday Concepts

The Firefighters Support Foundation’s (FSF) newest training program is now available. Mayday Basic Concepts address the various response strategies available to a firefighter that finds them self in a Mayday situation. This is an introductory course, designed as a resource for annual review of this critical subject. Its focus is on choosing an appropriate course of action once a Mayday has been called. The program consists of a 25-minute video presentation and an accompanying 30-slide PowerPoint.

Covered topics include:

  • What is a Mayday?
  • When should one be called?
  • Who can call one?
  • What happens after one is called?
  • Waiting for help tactics, self-rescue options, and personal preparedness for a Mayday.

The presenter is Eric Stroud of Fire & Rescue Concepts.

The program is free to all members of public safety and emergency management agencies.
