Glenn Corbett Named Firefighter Christopher Santora Educational Scholarship Fund Man of the Year

Glenn Corbett, John Jay College associate professor and Fire Engineering technical editor, has been named the Firefighter Christopher Santora Educational Scholarship Fund 2012 Man of the Year.

Corbett got the nod for many reason:

  • For the past 10+ years he has not only supported the 9/11 families and the victims, but he has also provided all of us with knowledge, support, direction, and skill.
  • Glenn has been in attendance at every rally, march, and press conference, addressing the many issues that the families have faced over the years.
  • He has continuously advocated for fire safety improvements in high-rise buildings as well as advances in emergency response and communications through his Congressional testimony, 9/11 Commission testimony, and his position on the federal advisory committee to the National Institute of Standards and Technology in its investigation of the World Trade Center disaster.

Corbett will be honored June 8 during an annual dinner dance held at Riccardo’s by the Bridge in Astoria, Queens.
