Live Fire Training
I just finished reading Ian Bennett’s article “Objective-Based Live Fire Training: An Alternative Model” (Fire Engineering, April 2022). He has hit the target on the live burn issue. He answers the question on what we are trying to accomplish with live fire training. His point is to focus on the objectives and not try to dilute the real issue of learning about fire behavior under live fire conditions. We can practice all the other tactical skills at other times, not during the live fire portion. Thank you for a great article.
