EDDIE BUCHANAN has been named president of the International Society of Fire Service Instructors, succeeding Chief Timothy E. Sendelbach, who served as president for the past five years. Buchanan is currently the Division Chief of Operations for Hanover (VA) Fire & EMS. He holds an associate’s degree in fire science and a bachelor’s degree in human resources management from the University of Richmond. He is the author of the Volunteer Training Officer’s Handbook (Fire Engineering, 2003) and coauthor of the Red & White Ribbon reports from the volunteer/combination officer’s section of the International Association of Fire Chiefs.
