Ottawa Training Program Focuses on Modern Fire Dynamics

Ottawa Fire Services is involved with other international players in the realm of firefighting in devloping a new curriculum based on an understanding of modern fire behavior and fire dynamics.

Other participants in the endeavor include Canada’s National Research Council, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the fire departments of Montreal, Halifax, Calgary, and New York City, according to a report from The Ottawa Citizen (http://bit.ly/VQBZxo).

Forward Avenue Report: “Moving Forward ” One Year Later

The work, scheduled to be completed in 2017, attempts to incorporate findings on smoke toxicity and the increased use of combustible materials, such as composites and laminates, in building construction.
