New Free Performance Enhancement on the Training Ground Program Available

Hillsboro Division Chief Jeff Gurske

The Firefighters Support Foundation’s (FSF) newest training program is now available. “Our Performance Enhancement on the Training Ground program is a program that all fire trainers should view ,” says FSF President David Kenik. The program consists of a 50-minute video presentation and an accompanying PowerPoint presentation.

The presenter is Division Chief Jeff Gurske of the Hillsboro (OR) Fire Department. With his years of experience, passion for training, and access to the latest training methods  across all public safety disciplines (not just fire), Chief Gurske both bursts some balloons and explains the most effective ways to get the most out of each training session. Did you know that visualization can work against performance? Do you know that the most effective fire training stimulates the amygdala? Do you know how to do that without overloading your people? Do you know the difference between a drill and an exercise? Do you know how you might being make your training ineffective in spite of good intentions? These subjects and more are explored in this program.

The program is free to all members of public safety and emergency management agencies.

Simply watch in the player below or download a copy of the Powerpoint and video as either an MPG or M4V file HERE.
