SC Fire Captain Dies After Physical Fitness Training

A captain with Summerville (SC) Fire & Rescue passed away of an apparent heart attack after physical fitness training, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.

On Monday, October 17, 2022, Captain Kenneth Roy Sott, 65, returned home after physical fitness training with recruit firefighters. A short time later, he experienced a medical emergency and was rushed to the Summerville Medical Center where he passed away from an apparent heart attack.
