California Fire Mechanics Academy presents FIRE EXPO 2007

The 2007 California Fire Mechanics Academy will be coming to Sacramento in just a few short weeks!

This year, the California Fire Mechanics Academy is working in conjunction with the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, American River College Public Service Training Center, the United States Forest Service, the California Fire Chiefs Association, and California State Fire Training in order to hold the week-long event in Sacramento. McClellan Business Park has agreed to host this year’s group of over four hundred students for the five days of classes from April 2-6, 2007.

The California Fire Mechanics are a group of volunteers dedicated to training both firefighters and emergency vehicle technicians to repair and maintain their equipment. This year classes will range from fire pump testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting to classes covering the upkeep and repair of aerial apparatus, ambulances and even airport crash rescue vehicles. The CFMA is also offering classes specifically to teach firefighters how to recognize potential problems with the increasingly complex and advanced equipment.

The highlight of the week is FIRE EXPO 2007, the only emergency equipment show in northern California, on April 4th and 5th, 2007. This event is dedicated to displaying the latest in firefighting and emergency vehicle technology and provides a unique opportunity for anyone involved in emergency response to view the state-of-the art fire apparatus and equipment. The show will be located at the Garden Pavilion, 5640 Dudley Blvd, McClellan Park, CA. Show hours are Wednesday, April 4th from 1:00 – 7:00 pm and Thursday, April 5th from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. Admission is free!
