Colorado Firefighters Operate Out of House

One of the Aurora (CO) Fire Department’s temporary firehouses is set up in just that–a house, located in a residential community on a golf course.

The Denver Post (http://bit.ly/1kcouMX) reported on the curious fire station, Aurora Fire Station No. 15, which has been at the location for seven years. A photo shows what would otherwise be an ordinary-looking modern dwelling, unusual except for an oversized garage and a fire apparatus parked out front.

The developer of the community, Murphy Creek provided the home, while the city of Aurora staffs and maintains the station. This arrangement allows the area to not have to build a new station, and means firefighters will be on hand to deal with any emergency incidents.
