Indianapolis, IN – March 24, 2011 – Crimson Fire, Inc., a leading manufacturer of custom and
purpose-built fire apparatus, is introducing a high performance, durable and affordably priced
product line known as the Classic Series at the Fire Department Instructor’s Conference
(FDIC), which opened today in Indianapolis, IN. The Classic Series is a strategic addition to the
Crimson Fire portfolio as it enables the company to accommodate all customer needs. The
Star Series is a highly-engineered line of custom fire apparatus that can be configured to meet
any customer requirement, the Legend Series is a modular line of fire apparatus that offers
high quality, flexibility and fast configuration and delivery.
The Classic Series is comprised of eight different products, two of which are featured at the
Crimson Fire display in the Indiana Convention Center (exhibit #2207), the Classic Series
FireRanger MP and the Classic Series Tanker.
Classic Series
The Classic Series FireRanger Mini Pumper incorporates an extruded aluminum body with
spacious compartments and roll-up doors. It is equipped with a Hale DSD pump that is rated to
1,250 gallons per minute (GPM) and a one-touch operation 150CFM Compressed Air Foam
System (CAFS). The FireRanger is built upon a super-duty Ford F-550 with the all-new 6.7L
Power Stroke turbo diesel engine rated to 300 HP and an automatic transmission.
The Classic Series Tanker offers an innovative pump-under-tank module configuration with a
Hale AP50 500 GPM Power Take Off-driven pump, a 2000 gallon water tank and a Newton
10” manual swivel dump. It rides on a medium-duty Kenworth T370 4×2 chassis with the
PACCAR PX-8 engine rated to 360 HP and an EVS 3000 Allison automatic transmission.

Legend Series
Crimson Fire is also exhibiting a pumper from its modular product line, known as the Legend Series. Through a design for manufacturing approach of engineered bodies, options, and speed, the Legend Series provides customers with low cost and quick delivery pumpers, aerials, and tankers available on custom or commercial chassis.
The pumper on display at FDIC is built on a Spartan Metro Star medium four door cab and chassis with a 10” raised roof, featuring an aluminum body, polypropylene 1,000 gallon tank and a 1,500 GPM mid-ship pump with side mount pump controls.
Star Series
The highly-engineered and configurable Star Series product line combines an incredibly
durable framework with more usable compartment space, custom designed tank, lower center
of gravity, an ergonomically optimized control panel, and increased serviceability. The Star
Series on display at FDIC include two Transformer Pumpers, all available for purchase, on
both custom and commercial chassis and a rear mount platform that features a high flow
capacity water system. The Transformer body configuration minimizes the space consumed by
the fire pump to provide excellent compartment space to meet the changing needs in the fire
service. Also on display is a Star Series heavy duty stainless steel walk-in rescue that features
a 20” raised roof built on a Gladiator Chassis with a 550 HP Cummins ISX engine.
