An updated version of “Smoke Detectors and Legislation” is now available. It contains an analysis of state legislation, including a state-by-state summary, model code provisions, mobile home regulations, local legislation, a list of state contacts and addresses of model code organizations.

“We look at this update as a tool to assist fire chiefs, local or elected officials in obtaining smoke detector legislation,” Gordon Vickery, U.S. Fire Administrator, stated.
