DHS S&T to Demonstrate Cell-Phone Based Sensors for Carbon Monoxide Detection

WASHINGTON, DCThe Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate will demonstrate new environmental sensing technology, Cell-All, during a training exercise at the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center.  This new technology can enable smart phones to detect the presence of hazardous chemical compounds, such as carbon monoxide. Developers of both current prototypes will be on hand to discuss the specific technologies.
