Valve holds pump prime
The Ken Mar Butterfly Valve enables the fireman to quickly switch from water-onboard to remote, high-volume tanks without shutting down the pumper. Pump prime is always maintained due to a press fit, Keystone Seal, and a calibrated handle that smoothly regulates initial water intake, according to the company.

Electronic key phone system
The ComCentrex Electronic Key Telephone System from Plant Equipment Inc. incorporates solid-state digital technology, and is available in desk-top or flush-mount consoles sizes from 30 to 150 lines with single or dual operator circuits.
The system is suited for traders turret systems, centrex, and executive suite systems, E911 and utility dispatch systems. A 12pair console cable is used regardless of line size.

Respiratory protection
International Safety Instruments (ISI) announces their new Ranger II high-pressure SCBA, which can be converted in the field from one size 4,500-psig cylinder to another by means of a simple cylinder band adjustment.
A complete cylinder change can be accomplished in less than two minutes, according to the company. The unit can also accommodate standard presure 2,216-psig cylinders.
Ranger II provides firefighters, hazardous materials handlers, and workers in potentially toxic environments with respiratory protection and flexibility.

New helmets and accessories
Bell Helmets announces that its new division, Bell Fire Service Products, will be manufacturing protective headgear, gloves, and carrying cases for firefighters.
The three different helmet models offer nomex flap storage that stops heat build up and increases air circulation to the head.
New helmet series
Cairns & Brother introduces the Commando series of Rescue/Paramedic/SAR helmets. The first two models in the series are light-weight HP-1 Commando, with a single chinstrap with postman’s slide, and the HP-2 Commando Mountaineer, featuring a dual-mounting-point strap with nape-ofthe-neck crossover and polycarbonate chin cup for extra stability.
The HP-1 is designed for working in a vehicle or in close emergency conditions, while the HP-2 is suited to rope, high-rise, or helicopter rescue work.

Self-contained rescue cutter
H.K. Porter Inc. recently announced the addition of a new self-contained rescue cutter to its line of Arsenal extrication equipment.
The RS 3000 Escape Claws cutter is a highly portable power cutter that weighs 27 pounds. It is capable of delivering 14,000 pounds of cutting force, and a capacity of five inches.
As the handle of the RS 3000 is pumped, the jaws of the cutter are closed hydraulically, without the need for a separate power source.
