LEAK DETECTOR
Sensit, a portable device that detects leaks of most combustible and toxic gases, has been introduced by J and N Associates, Inc. The devices has a 16-inch electrically insulated gooseneck that bends to fit hard-to-reach places. A solid-state sensor reacts to the presence of gas in less than one second. As the sensor detects gas, it emits a ticking sound. When the source of a leak is found, an alarm sounds.

POWER BLOWER WATER SYSTEM OPTION

Underwater Kinetics introduces a line of flashlights specifically engineered for the firefighter. These lights will function after repeated 20-foot drops to concrete. Bridgestone (U.S.A.) Inc. announces its new tire especially designed for fire and crash trucks and emergency support vehicles. The tire is the V-Steel G-Traction, or VGT, tire and is designed for both off-the-road and smooth surfaces performance. It wears evenly when operated at high speeds on smooth surfaces, has good traction off the road, and can provide good flotation at low pressure for operation in soft or muddy soil.

Precast concrete buildings, such as the one designed by EASI-SET Industries, represent a safe and secure storage facility for hazardous materials. Standard features of the EASI-SET building include steel reinforced precase concrete construction with solid three-inchthick walls and four-inch-thick roof and floor slabs. The roof and floor slabs are manufactured with a post-tensioning system—steel cables imbedded in the concrete are tensioned until they compress the concrete to such a density that the slabs become impenetrable to water. The floor of the building has a built-in concrete curb.
