FEDERAL SIGNAL CORPORATION has arranged with 3M to distribute the latter`s Opticom(TM) Priority Control System. The system is designed to allow the safe passage of emergency vehicles through intersections by transmitting a signal that alters the phase of a traffic light. It enables emergency vehicle operators to stop cross traffic with a red light. Federal Signal will offer its Vector®, StreetHawk®, and AerodynicR lightbars with the Opticom system installed.
