Leather Glove
Firecraft Division of Western Fire Equipment Co., has introduced a leather glove with a 4-inch Nomex knit wristlet. Made with a leather protector on the wristlet, the glove has Estron lining that insulates and a processed leather that dries to its original softness and will not shrink. The processing also removes oil that can cause a glove to become slick when wet.

Defibrillator System
Datascope Corp. has introduced the M/D3 defibrillator system, a compact, lightweight monitor/defibrillator/recorder that incorporates features found in larger, heavier instruments. Highly portable and functional, the M/D3 includes a lithium emergency power pack that provides a backup power source to the primary nickel-cadmium batteries. The M/D3 can also be powered by line current.

Water Flow Test Kit
The A.J. Abrams Company has announced a kit for testing water systems, that includes a pitot gage, two 3-inch test gages, 100 and 200 psi, a brass hydrant cap threaded for a gage, and a bleeder valve. The components are housed in a Formica attache case.

Cutt-Off Saw
Wacker Corporation has introduced the Model BTS 11, which weighs 25½ pounds and is powered by a 6 hp, 2-cycle engine with electronic ignition. The saw has fingertip throttle control, a shock-absorbing, V-belt drive and a centrifugal clutch.
Model BTS 11 uses standard 12-inch abrasive blades with 7/8-inch bore and is equipped with an adjustable protective blade guard. The blade arm can be rotated 180° for either inside or outside cutting.

Spanner Belt
Leather Works Company has introduced the Indy Style spanner belt that carries a fire fighter’s tools while allowing him to move about freely. Made of harness leather treated with neat’s-foot oil, each belt is adjustable, has two free slide snaps, a welded D ring in the rear, and a quick-connect snap and 3-inch round ring buckle system in front.

Ear Mike and Speaker
A combination microphone and speaker that is worn in the user’s ear has been introduced by the Electronic Instrumentation Division of Lear Siegler, Inc. The Ear Com provides communication capability while wearing breathing apparatus. The system is used with a walkie-talkie.
The Ear Com system includes the earpiece and a control module that contains the amplifier and filter circuitry, the push-to-talk switch and a 9-volt standard battery, or an 8.4-volt rechargeable battery.

Lock Breaker
Model 12 lock breaker, a 37-pound forcible entry tool capable of producing 10,000 pounds of force at the tips, has been introduced by Hurst Performance, Inc. It breaks locks, latches, bolts, and hinges. It also pries open windows and security baffles. It operates off the regular Hurst power unit.

Power Packs
Two Q-Beam Power Packs introduced by the Brinkmann Corp., provide a compact portable source of rechargeable 12-VDC power.
The small model 1720 and the large model 1721 both include a charger and a vinyl carrying case with carrying strap.
The large pack will provide power for up to 20 hours of continuous operation for QBeam’s Moonliter light or 40 minutes with any of its 200,000candlepower Super Spots, Spot/Flood, or Blue Max spotlights. The small pack will give up to 10 hours continuous operation of the Moonliter or 20 minutes with one of the 200,000-candlepower lights.
