Steve and Andy Schwartz, the owners of LION, a firefighter personal protective equipment (PPE) manufacturer headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, have recently established the LION Ready for Action scholarship for the Sinclair Community College Fire Science Program.

The LION Ready for Action Scholarship will support students who are enrolled in a Firefighter 2, Fire officer, EMT, paramedic or a fire science two-year degree.

“Sinclair Community College Fire Science Program is recognized as a national leader in the fire service education, and Steve and I are honored that our families are able to support worthy students who desire to be the firefighters and fire service leaders of the future,” stated Andy Schwartz, who serves as Lion’s Corporate Counsel, Secretary and Chief Procurement Officer.

The Sinclair Fire Academy is a State of OHIO chartered program that provides certified firefighter and EMT certificates and two-year fire science degrees. It is one of the oldest fire science programs in the country. LION has enjoyed a long relationship with the program, and believes in the importance of giving back to those that give so much to us.
