McAfee Joins the Industry Council

The Industry Council for Emergency Response Technologies (iCERT) announced the addition of McAfee to the Association’s growing membership base.

McAfee’s services help government agencies balance resources and security goals. The company’s solutions integrate, consolidate, and automate IT security operations to reduce cost while providing the visibility and intelligence necessary for better situational awareness. With these core requirements under control, organizations can optimize; evolving toward information superiority based on continuous and intelligent risk-based management and compliance processes.

“As malware and stealth attacks grow in frequency and sophistication,” noted McAfee’s Vice President and Chief Technology Officer – Public Sector, Scott Montgomery, “public safety agencies face the prospect of service interruptions that can cause critical delays in life saving response. We have joined iCERT to add our voice, perspective and experience to the mission of advancing and protecting emergency response technologies and public safety IT operations.”

“A founding premise for iCERT is that industry leaders provide ongoing and critical insights for the field of public safety and emergency response technologies. Establishing, maintaining and growing relationships among key company leaders-the members of our association-where issues are discussed and advanced is a critical aspect of today’s technology and policy development setting,” noted Darrin Reilly, Industry Council Chairman and Chief Operating Officer for TriTech Software Systems. “We enthusiastically welcome McAfee to iCERT.”

“With fresh insights on the nature of IT security for emergency services, the McAfee team will infuse our group with innovative and keen understandings,” said iCERT Executive Director, George Rice. “We are fortunate and pleased that they’ve joined the Industry Council, and we look forward to their participation in our important and ongoing dialogue on emergency communications.”
