Midwest Fire Equipment & Repair Company (Midwest Fire) announced today that the company Owner and CEO Sarah Atchison was named one of the Top 25 Women in Business by Prairie Business magazine in the March issue.
Winners were selected from North Dakota, South Dakota and western Minnesota based on their professional success as well contributions to their community.
According to Prairie Business Magazine Editor Kris Bevill, “Competition was fierce for this year’s Top 25 Women in Business list. More than 100 high-caliber businesswomen were nominated for this award, which recognizes business women throughout the Dakotas and western Minnesota for their leadership, creativity and connection to community. Sarah is a fairly new business owner compared to some of the other recipients, but we were impressed with her willingness to dive into a male-dominated industry after working in an unrelated field for years and almost immediately produce positive results for the company. Her passion for the firefighting and manufacturing industries and commitment to her employees cemented her place on our list. We are inspired by her, and all the honorees, and are pleased to name her one of the Top 25 Women in Business.”
Rich Gasaway is a retired Fire Chief, and Minnesota resident that travels around the world speaking with Firefighters about Situational Awareness and works on educational initiatives with Midwest Fire.
“I am very honored to have forged a strong relationship with Sarah Atchison and Midwest Fire. Sarah and I share the same passion for excellence in customer service and we share a deep commitment toward improving firefighter safety. This passion shows both in how her company builds fire trucks and in her business practices. She is very deserving of this award and I congratulate her on this significant achievement.”
