SparkyT web site debuts

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) interactive web site www.sparky.org went on line September 1. Designed primarily for children between the ages of six and nine, the site is hosted by Sparky the Fire DogT, the NFPA`s official mascot. Children learn about fire safety as they engage in activities such as helping Sparky find his way out of a home, an apartment, or a classroom while learning the basics of planning to escape fire or by asking Sparky questions about safety issues. Children may also learn about Dalmatians, “visit” a fire truck gallery, and get to “drive” a fire truck to a fire–among other activities.
