Simulations are one form of tactical decision games that provide useful training situations and allow firefighters to gain experience.
This experience can be elevated with an increase of realism or stress through time limits, weight of gear, difficulty of radio transmission and more. They are extremely useful at assessing the knowledge of your department strategy and tactics, and being able to repeat the training without staffing or budget concerns.
