Waterous Scheduling Fire Pump Schools

Waterous Scheduling Fire Pump Schools

The Waterous Company will begin an eight-month series of special schools on fire pump operation and maintenance from its mobile demonstrator unit. The tour, which will start in March, will cover the states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Nevada and California.

Classes will be conducted at the invitation of state, regional, county and district fire schools, and universities and state mechanics’ schools. Attendance of at least 50 is required, with the schedule being filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Six types of centrifugal fire pumps with six different drive mechanisms will be mounted on the mobile’ demonstrator, a 24-foot semitrailer. Waterous portable pumps and Floto-Pumps will also be shown.

School sessions will last three to four hours, during which time fire fighters will have the opportunity to operate the motorized pumps and accessories. Although the lectures will deal specifically with Waterous pumps, much of the material discussed will apply to any centrifugal fire pump.

Schools interested in taking advantage of this free instructional service should contact Loren Bahls, technical sales assistant, Waterous Company, 300 E. John E. Carroll Avenue, South St. Paul, Minn. 55075.
