Crews from the North Bay were battling a 45-acre fire near Samuel P. Taylor State Park on Thursday afternoon, reports The San Francisco Chronicle.
The fire broke out just before 5 a.m. inside the Marin park west of Lagunitas, said a Marin County Fire Department spokeswoman.
Crews from Woodacre, Point Reyes Station and Hicks Valley initially responded, but by early afternoon Marin County Fire had roughly 40 firefighters on hand with an additional 150 from Cal Fire, Sullivan said.
A tanker plane and a helicopter where called in after the morning fog lifted to drop water from a nearby lake and flame retardant.
