On the morning of November 14, 2014, the Teaneck (NJ) Fire Department responded to a reported kitchen fire.
On arrival of Engine 3 a working fire was discovered in the rear first story set back of a 2 1/2-story occupied frame dwelling. One 1 3/4-inch attack line was stretched through the front door and companies appeared to be making good progress. However, fire had already extended into the walls and the ceiling and made its way to the second floor and attic.
As conditions deteriorated command, was forced to pull all firefighters out and go to an exterior defensive attack. The fire went to three alarms with mutual aid companies from Hackensack, Engelwood, Ridgefield Park, and Bogota assisting.
