5-Alarm Fire in Roxbury

Boston Firefighters are tackling a four-alarm blaze in Roxbury, officials confirmed Friday.

Responders reported a fire showing from 104 Winthrop St. just before 9 p.m., with a second alarm sounded at 9:07 p.m. A third alarm was sounded at approximately 9:20 p.m., with a fourth and then fifth only minutes later.

The building is described as a “very large duplex” with fire reported on all floors. Fire officials said there was a particularly “heavy fire” on the building’s top floor.
