Authorities are allowing residents in The Acreage to return to their homes after a brush fire prompted evacuations Wednesday afternoon, reports PalmBeachPost.com.
An estimated 200 acres burned in the area of Grapeview Boulevard, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said.
The Florida Forest Service is helping firefighters to contain the fire. The crews are trying to let the fire burn itself out, said Capt. Albert Borroto, spokesman for Fire Rescue.
“They have it contained, but it still continues to flare up and go past the line,” he said.
Firefighters are expected to remain on the scene throughout the night.
