AIA Hazard Survey Of Chemical Industry
A revised “Hazard Survey of the Chemical and Allied Industries” has been published by the Engineering and Safety Service of the American Insurance Association.
The 112-page survey, with 35 pictorial illustrations and numerous charts, is available from the Publications Department of the American Insurance Association, 85 John Street, New York, N.Y. 10038, at $10 per copy.
The new survey covers all pertinent areas in a loss prevention program, including hazard factors, risk evaluation, plant layout, structures, equipment, materials, chemical process evaluation, unit operations, operator practices, fires and explosions, fire protection and prevention, fire extinguishing facilities and equipment, explosion prevention and control, and environmental health controls.
The 1979 report is augmented by four appendices: Hazardous Chemical Criteria; Use of Flow Sheets and Plot Plans for Risk Evaluation; Chemical Processes and Operations; and Typical Codes, Testing Procedures, Standards and Specifications for Chemical Plant Equipment.
