Air National Guard Member from Illinois Heads to NYC in 9/11 Tribute

Air National Guard member and Chicago (IL) Fire Lieutenant Patrick McCauley traveled from Scott Air Force Base in Illinois to New York City deliver a unique tribute honoring 9/11 victims.

McCauley, 50, who just returned from a three-month deployment with the 126th Air Refueling Wing at an air base in the Middle East, brought with him 30 flags that were flown in combat missions across Afghanistan, according to a report from the Belleville News-Democrat (http://bit.ly/1g10fA3).

The flags will be hoisted Wednesday afternoon during a ceremony at the Fire Department of New York’s “Ten House,” which is located across the street from the World Trade Center and the 9/11 Memorial. The firehouse lost six firefighters on September 11, 2001.
