A group of firefighters from the Chattanooga area will be hosting the 1st annual Chattanooga 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb event in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This event consists of participants climbing the equivalent of 110 flights of stairs just as the firefighters did in the World Trade Center. Each participant will represent a FDNY firefighter who selflessly gave their lives on 9/11/2001 in New York City in an attempt to save lives. This is a fundraising event for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation which creates and maintains events for fire service survivors. Monies raised will provide assistance to the surviving families and co-workers of the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.
