Jan. 26—ANSONIA — City firefighters responded to a structure fire on Sunday afternoon, officials said.
Fire crews were called about a structure fire on Howard Avenue in the city’s west side at about 3:00 p.m., according to a post on Facebook by the Ansonia Police Department.
Arriving crews confirmed a working house fire, officials said, adding that there was a possibility that people were still inside the building.
Officials said fire crews, with assistance from Derby and Seymour firefighters, extended hose lines, got ladders to the building and conducted searches. They said one person was pulled from the building and taken to emergency medical services.
Officials did not provide additional details on the person or their injuries. They said units were on scene for about two hours, and the fire marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
