The Hoover (AL) Fire Department designed this KME pumper for general firefighting and emergency medical services response with emphasis on advanced life support (ALS). Operations Chief Rick Patterson says that all of the department’s engines are ALS equipped.

- Predator Panther chassis with a 211-inch wheelbase and a 10-inch raised-roof cab with four seats and an EMS cabinet between the side doors;
- CUMMINS ISL 9 450-hp diesel engine with an ALLISON 3000 EVS automatic transmission;
- UPF 500-gallon water and 50-gallon foam tanks;
- slide-out oil absorbent bin;
- WATEROUS CS-C20 single-stage, 1,250-gpm pump with an ELKHART 240 95-gpm foam system, a 1¾-inch front bumper line, two 1¾-inch speedlays, two 2½-inch rear preconnects (one with three-inch hose attached to an AKRON Mercury quick attack monitor), and an ELKHART Stinger monitor with a TFT Extenda Gun mounted midship;
- HANSEN roll-up compartment doors and eight wheel well sleeves for spare SCBA cylinders;
- PHYSIO CONTROL Life Pak 15 monitor/defibrillator; and
- lighting with WHELEN scene lights plus AKRON brow and telescoping floodlights.

The Oakland (ME) Fire Department needed a tanker with full firefighting capabilities for a rural community with few hydrants and limited personnel. Chief David Coughlin says that the department’s E-ONE pumper/tanker was also designed with height and length restrictions and an extended commercial cab affording more seating and storage without the expense of a custom cab.

- INTERNATIONAL WorkStar chassis with a 246-inch wheelbase and a five-seat extended cab;
- NAVISTAR MaxxForce 10 350-hp diesel engine with an ALLISON 3000 EVS automatic transmission;

- one rear direct tank fill;
- rear 10-inch NEWTON dump valve with extendable chute capable of a 90° swivel;
- E-ONE hydraulic portable tank rack with 3,000-gallon HUSKY tank;
- eight wheel well sleeves for spare SCBA cylinders and hand extinguishers;
- SAFETY VISION back-up camera; and
- lighting with six WHELEN scene lights midship and rear.

The Revelstoke (British Columbia, Canada) Fire Rescue designed this FORT GARRY FIRE TRUCKS pumper as a second-out vehicle with identical capabilities (regarding general firefighting and foam) to their first-out unit so it can respond as a first-out vehicle if the primary vehicle is on call, says Chief Rob Girard. The pumper responds within the city and fire protection area.
