The Kearney (MO) Fire Rescue Protection District has placed a PIERCE pumper and two AMERICAN LAFRANCE ambulances in service. According to Chief Larry E. Pratt, the engine is designed as a rescue pumper and answers fire, rescue, and EMS calls. The ambulances are designed for flexibility so the crews can carry turnouts and SCBA, and the heavier chassis provides a longer vehicle life.

Features/Equipment (rescue pumper):

  • Quantum chassis, 219-inch wheelbase, and four-seat cab with medical compartment;
  • DETROIT Series 60 430-hp diesel engine with ALLISON HD 4060PR automatic transmission;
