Approach all incidents with caution

Approach all incidents with caution

Barry E. McClung

Firefighter/EMT-Intermediate

Johnson City (TX) Volunteer Fire Department

This refers to “A Routine Call Becomes a Close Call” by Larry Collins (Fire Engineering, October 1997). This well-written article is a prime example of the reason we, as emergency responders, must always approach an incident with the utmost care and caution. The incident cited could have been a disaster for all involved: responders and the civilian. That it turned out as well as it did shows how well the responders were trained and [how appropriately they] acted.

As a veteran of almost two decades of the fire (and EMS) service, I continually am pleased and impressed with the quality of your magazine each month. Keep up the good work.
