Are Fire/EMS Responders Ready for Ebola? IAFF Raises Concerns

When Thomas Eric Duncan got sick his family dialed 911. Fire/EMS were first on the scene and took him to the hospital. If Ebola spreads, this scenario will be repeated over and over. Firefighter/paramedics must be ready.

International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) General President Harold Schaitberger said: “Too many jurisdictions in the United States and Canada have not adequately provided the training, equipment, and resources fire fighter/paramedics need to respond appropriately and safely to potential Ebola incidents.”
