argus® from e2v has produced its first range of NFPA-compliant Thermal Imaging Cameras, and they are significantly smaller and lighter than any other NFPA camera on the market.
John Masheder, Director of argus® Thermal Imaging commented: “Firefighter safety is at the forefront of our design process, which is why we invested in producing an NFPA 1801 complian-t camera, but we knew we could go beyond the requirements and make the Mi-TIC drastically smaller and lighter than other NFPA thermal imagers on the market…so we did.”
The NFPA 1801:2013 standard has been created to specify design, performance, testing and certification requirements for thermal imaging cameras used by the fire service during emergency incident operations. There are a number of rigorous tests including water resistance, abrasion and drop tests. Image quality is checked after every single test, so fire fighters can be confident that there will be a usable thermal image when they need it most.
The NFPA compliant argus® Mi-TIC was unveiled at FDIC 2014. Stop by booth #843 to meet the Mi-TIC.
