NBC DFW reported that crews responded at about 12:43 a.m. to the 400 block of Bardin Greene Drive along with police and EMS.

After no one responded to police identifying themselves and knocking on the door, crews forced entry to the home. Police told reporters that a short time later someone in the apartment fired a gun, striking firefighter Brady Weaver.

He was transported and is in stable condition at an area medical facility. No additional shots were fired and no other injuries were reported.
