The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has named Aron Anderson planner of its Fire Adapted Communities® (FAC) initiative. Anderson will assist NFPA in providing technical support of its FAC web content, conducting research and developing and providing technical training. He is located in NFPA’s Denver, (CO) field office.
“Aron’s broad experience as an emergency management professional and his skills in web development and design, grant research and administration, and planning and training is a valuable asset to our FAC program, and will complement our outreach efforts,” said NFPA’s Wildland Fire Operations Division manager Dave Nuss. “As a key member of the Division, Aron’s knowledge and expertise will help us greatly in furthering our wildfire safety mission.”
NFPA’s Wildland Fire Operations Division works with organizations across the country and around the globe to raise awareness of wildfire and what residents can do to help prevent loss of lives and property in their community.
“Wildfire activity across the country has increased tremendously in the last few years and NFPA plays an important role in helping communities address their risk for wildfire damage,” said Anderson. “I look forward to contributing to the expansion of NFPA’s Fire Adapted Communities initiative and working with our partner organizations and agencies to support residents in their efforts to prepare for and adapt to living with wildfire.”
Before coming to NFPA, Anderson worked as a resource support analyst for the North Central All-Hazards Region in Colorado and as a research intern for the Adams County (CO) Office of Emergency Management. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Northern Colorado and was awarded numerous incident management system training certifications from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Emergency Management Institute.
